VPRS 4402 Record of Public Servants

Under the provisions of section 25 of the Public Service Act 1883,(No.773), and subsequent Acts, the Public Service Board (VA 886) was required to keep a record of all officers and employees in the public service, their length of service, salaries and wages and other employment details.This series comprises volumes which record employment details of officers of the Victorian Public Service.The information recorded includes:Name of the officer or employeeName of the Department and the BranchDate of birthDate of appointmentDesignation, Salary, Certificate No.File reference number,Other information (date of resignation, date of permanent appointment, date of death, etc).This series ended in 1925 when the Board started to record the particulars of public servants on cards (refer to VPRS 9889).
