ASKAP Data Products for Project AS304 (Radio Transients in the LMC with Deeper Wider Faster): catalogues

We request 12h of ASKAP time split into six 2h observations on consecutive days to carry out the most comprehensive search for transient and variable radio sources in the Large Magellanic Cloud (LMC) to-date. These observations will enable us to discover exotic pulsars, stars, fast radio bursts and other as-yet-unknown transients, as well as allowing us to study the ionised medium in the LMC via scintillation. The observation length and cadence is tailored to the timescales that LMC sources are expected to vary on, making it distinct to the planned VAST SSP.
