Xylanolytic, anaerobic, thermophilic bacterium Tepidimicrobium xylanilyticum strain GN1 was newly isolated from efficient lignocellulosic bacterial community. Co-culture between Clostridium thermocellulm and T. xylanilyticum strain GN1 shows high degradation ability for lignocellulosic substrate. However, co-culture system with type strain T. xylanilyticum PML14 could not observe high lignocellulosic ability. Thus, it is interested in the comparison of genome information between strain PML14 and strain GN1.
