This dataset was delivered on: 01-24-2020 Project Description Some traffic management techniques (TMTs), including access management, traffic calming, and other roadway reconfigurations, have engendered controversy in the public domain over their effectiveness in spite of the techniques being demonstrated/proven to improve traffic management and roadway safety. This public opposition tends to delay or obstruct opportunities to improve roadway safety and operations. The purpose of this project is to identify and understand the relationships between safety-relevant driver behaviors and controversial TMTs so that transportation engineers and researchers can develop useful enforcement and education interventions (and possibly infrastructure design interventions) that would improve public sentiment toward the TMTs, thereby accelerating the adoption of effective TMTs as safety countermeasures. Data Request Scope roadway infrastructure elements, driver behaviors that occur while transiting particular elements, the subset of trip summary and time-series variables associated with the trips in which those elements and behaviors occur, and driver demographic/questionaire/test data associated with the trips.
