Revegetation of Numinbah Valley Endangered Ecological Communties and Riparian Restoration Project 1

The project aims to conduct works to rehabilitate 15 hectares of riparian zone at three sites along the Nerang River in Numinbah Valley. Weed eradication and enrichment planting will be conducted to improve riparian habitat and extend wildlife corridors at locations highly visible to the public. Community awareness of the importance of riparian zones will be fostered through two community planting/information days. Restoration works aim to improve the condition of local national park vegetation (lowland rainforest), improve water quality in the Nerang River which feeds a major water supply (Hinze Dam) and improve habitat to assist survival of threatened plant and animal species.
