Juniper (Juniperus excelsa) forests of Balochistan are world’s second largest and oldest forests, providing many benefits to regional ecosystems and surrounding communities.The present project is for the analysis of complete transcriptome of the Juniperus excelsa.To our knowledge, this is the first report on the transcriptome of Juniperus excelsa . We believe that this new dataset will be a useful resource for future genetic and genomic studies on this species. Unfortunately these forests are facing threat due to a dwarf mistletoe species Arceuthobium oxycedri and greatly damaged. The present research proposal is also based to find the differentially expressed genes in Juniperus excelsa under normal and diseased conditions.
