The study aimed to isolate and characterise species of Streptomyces bacteria associated with the roots of Arabidopsis thaliana. The goal was to assess their role and activity within the plant root microbiome, their contribution to plant growth and their potential to inhibit plant pathogenic organisms. This is of interest for the development of biocontrol agents and our understanding of microbiome formation.
