The collection predominantly highlights Bob Ellis' career as a screewriter and director (he is also a journalist and political commentator). Ellis has written scripts for film and television - including co-writing Newsfront (1976) and Man of Flowers (1983) - and directed the films Unfinished Business (1985), Warm Nights on a Slow Moving Train (1988) and The Nostradamus Kid (1993). The resources in the collection include scripts, stills, newspaper clippings, books and journal articles.
