Simulation of single bubble released from GC185 by Tamoc calculator

Simulated the rise and dissolution of methane bubbles released from the GC185 natural seep site in the Gulf of Mexico using the Texas A&M Oilspill Calculator (TAMOC). The initial bubble sizes were based on measurements collected during the RR2405 research cruise. Site-specific CTD data were used to account for changes in pressure, temperature, salinity, and seawater density with depth. The model calculated how bubble size, methane mass, and rise velocity changed as the bubbles moved upward through the water column. It also considered methane dissolution into the surrounding seawater and bubble expansion as hydrostatic pressure decreased. The results were used to estimate bubble rise time, methane loss at different depths, and the amount of methane that could remain in the bubbles as they approached the upper ocean.
