Segregation of Eastern Filbert Blight Disease Response and Single Nucleotide Polymorphism Markers in Three Hybrid European-American Interspecific Hazelnut Populations

Eastern filbert blight is a disease native to most of eastern North America that kills most European hazelnut trees lacking genetic resistance. The objective of this study was to find quantitative trait loci for eastern filbert blight resistance in European and American hazelnut. These loci could then be used to develop cultivars resistant to eastern filbert blight that can be grown in the eastern United States.
