The land types are divided into secondary-level categories as follows: paddy field, dry land, closed forest land, shrub land, sparse forest land, other forest land, high-coverage grassland, medium-coverage grassland, low-coverage grassland, rivers and canals, lakes, reservoirs and ponds, permanent glaciers and snowfields, tidal flats, flood land, urban land, rural settlements, other construction land, sandy land, Gobi, saline-alkali land, swamp land, bare land, bare rock and gravel land, and others. Among them, cultivated land is classified into paddy fields and dry lands based on landforms including mountainous areas, hilly areas, plain areas, and slopes with a gradient greater than 25 degrees.
