MiSeq bisulfite amplicon sequencing data for a single-marker epigenetic clock in lingcod (Ophiodon elongatus)

This collection contains raw Illumina MiSeq bisulfite amplicon sequencing data generated to develop and validate a single-marker epigenetic clock for lingcod (Ophiodon elongatus). The dataset comprises bisulfite-converted DNA sequence reads targeting CpG methylation in a single region of the mab21l2 gene associated with chronological age, enabling estimation of age from methylation state at a single genomic region. These data were produced to support the development of a cost-effective epigenetic age biomarker and evaluate it’s use against alternative ageing methods.
