In situ bioremediation of contaminated site (town of Rho, Milano, Italy) of a shallow aquifer (A0) through the injection of a concentrated whey solution. A second aquifer (A1) was instead left untreated. Four months after treatment water from aquifers A0 and A1 was collected, filtered, genomic DNA was extracted and submitted to shotgun sequencing.
