MAKER2 annotation of a D. simulans genome (M252 strain). The annotation contains 13,422 genes and 18,301 transcripts. It was performed after repeat masking by combining ab initio predictions from Augustus, RNAseq data from Palmieri et al. (2015, Molecular Ecology Resources), protein sequence data from D. melanogaster & D. simulans and a de novo transcriptome obtained by PacBio full length sequencing of transcripts (IsoSeq pipeline, ~10Gb of raw data).All details are available in the publication referenced below.
