Following veterinary manure fertilization, antibiotics, antibiotic resistant bacteria and genes were transferred to agricultural soils resulting in the high prevalence of resistant bacteria in soil. However, whether a phylogenetic correlation exists between resistant bacterial populations of manure and manure-amended soil is not clear. In this work, we showed that the prevalence of bacteria with different antibiotic resistance, especially cephalexin-resistance, in pig manure displayed a high consistence with that of manure-amended or antibiotic-treated soil.
