Renewable electricity data and policy

This dataset supports research that looks at how policies influence renewable elctricity generation. It combines data from the World Development Indicators on GDP per capita, control of corruption percentile ranking, amount of non-hydro renewable electricity generated in kilowatt-hour per capita (kWh/capita), the percentage of electricity generated from non-hydro renewables of biomass, geothermal, solar, and wind. It also includes polices relevant for renewable elctricity adoption collected from the World Bank’s Regulatory Indicators for Sustainable Energy (RISE). It also includes an assessment of policy implementation from Renewables Readiness Assessment (RRA) country reports the IRENA and Country Energy Profiles by the International Energy Agency (IEA). The dataset includes the data from 71 developing countries.
