Soil samples from a pithouse and from a slab-lined cist at Site 42SA23045 in southeast
Utah were examined for pollen and macrofloral remains. This site is believed to be a
multicomponent Anasazi habitation site with an associated artifact scatter and several locations
of historic and prehistoric rock art. Pollen and macrofloral analyses are used to provide
subsistence information concerning plant resources that may have been utilized by the
prehistoric occupants of the site.
