The effect of eight weeks of swimming training with methanolic extract of Narcissus on hypothalamus-pituitary-adrenal axis function in rats exposed to Post-traumatic syndrome disorder (PTSD)

Background: Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) is a common neurological disorder associated with dysfunction of the Hypothalamic-Pituitary-Adrenal (HPA) axis. While previous studies have reported the neuroprotective effects of exercise and Narcissus plant separately, their combined impact on the HPA axis in PTSD conditions remains unclear. This study aimed to investigate the effect of eight weeks of swimming training (ST) combined with Narcissus extract (N) on HPA axis function in rats exposed to PTSD.
