Black carbon data from an ice core drilled at SIGMA-D, northwestern Greenland

An ice core drilled at the SIGMA-D site in northwestern Greenland was analysed with a Continuous Flow Analysis (CFA) system at the National Institute of Polar Research. Black carbon (BC) particles with the diameters between approximately 70 and 4000 nm were measured using a Wide Range Single Particle Soot Photometer (WR-SP2) attached to the CFA system. Mass and number concentrations of BC particles, and expamples of size distributions are shown.
