This dataset consists of field-measured data collected through four consecutive years (2019–2022) of field investigations and laboratory analyses. Data from 67 sampling sites and 670 vegetation quadrats in the Qilian Mountains region were systematically analyzed. This dataset contains the theoretical grassland carrying capacity of 15 administrative areas in the Qilian Mountains: Aksay Kazakh Autonomous County, Gaotai County (Zhangye City), Huangcheng Town (Sunan Yugur Autonomous County), Shandan County, Nan Yugur Autonomous County, Gangcha County, Menyuan Hui Autonomous County, Qilian County, Dachaidan, Delingha City, Ulan County, Subei Mongol Autonomous County, Gulang County, and Tianzhu Tibetan Autonomous County. It can provide data support for grassland-livestock balance zoning and the formulation of rational grazing management plans in the Qilian Mountains region.
