The Ciona17 dataset was developed by the College of Engineering, University of Guelph, Canada, focusing on semantic segmentation of invasive species in marine aquaculture environments. This dataset contains 1,472 high-resolution images, each with pixel-level annotations, mainly covering marine invertebrates such as Ciona intestinalis and Mytilus edulis. The creation of the dataset involved field photography and the use of professional annotation tools, aiming to solve the invasive species problem in marine aquaculture via computer vision technologies, so as to improve farming efficiency and reduce economic losses.
