Planktic foraminiferal stable isotopic measurements across the Kuroshio Current Extension, 5–2.5 Ma

Stable isotopic data was measured from planktic foraminiferal species Globigerinoides ruber and G. obliquus from Ocean Drilling Program Holes 1207A, 1208A, and 1209A, drilled from the northwestern Pacific Ocean. Sediment samples were washed over a 63 µm screen then dried overnight in an oven at 50°C. Foraminifera species were picked from the >150 µm fraction, with 2–6 specimens picked per sample. These data transect the Kuroshio Current Extension, and the data provide a spatial and temporal view of the current during the Pliocene to earliest Pleistocene (5–2.5 Ma).
