A simulation tool aiming at reproducing photon-counting detectors behavior is in development as part of a CIFRE thesis conducted within the imXgam team at the Centre de Physique des Particules de Marseille (CPPM). This simulation integrates models of charge dynamics, fluorescence and pile-up. We require a synchrotron beam time that will allow us to disentangle each effect impacting performance of a CdZnTe-based prototype provided by Detection Technology (DT). We expect to demonstrate the validity of our models by comparing experimental and simulation results. We want the outcome of this study to results in a coherent and well-documented simulation of CdZnTe-based detector with results to be published in a scientific article.
