Speaker numbers for Indigenous Languages from the Australian Censuses (2006, 2011, 2016, 2021)

This data set was complied and transformed by the author using Australian census data accessed from the Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS) TableBuilder tool. The original data are from the ABS censuses conducted in 2006, 2011, 2016 and 2021. Overall language information, and language information per town is available in separate spreadsheets. The transformations applied are: combining data from each census year into a single table adding a column for language groups The ABS is the original source of this data. Any errors or misleading transformations are the responsibility of the author.
