The prevalence and influence factors of fear of cancer recurrence in family caregivers of children with cancer: a scoping review

Cancer remains a huge threat to the children and their family caregivers, especially when they experience cancer recurrence. Given the enormous threat that childhood cancer recurrence poses to both the quality of life and the survival rate of affected children, cancer recurrence remains one of the most worrying and consistently feared issues for pediatric cancer patients and their family caregivers.Fear of cancer recurrence among family caregivers of pediatric cancer patients is high in prevalence, severe in degree, long in duration, has a negative relationship with their quality of life, so it is important to improve understanding about fear of cancer recurrence to help caregivers cope with this psychological problem. to our knowledge, no comprehensive literature reviews have been conducted on this specific topic. Therefore, this scoping review aims to comprehensively synthesize current studies on the prevalence and influencing factors of fear of cancer recurrence in family caregivers of children with cancer. The specific research questions are: (1) What is the prevalence of fear of cancer recurrence in family caregivers of children with cancer? (2) What are the influencing factors of fear of cancer recurrence in family caregivers of children with cancer?
