From an abrupt permafrost erosion site in Zackenberg valley, NE Greenland, DNA was extracted 1 and 2 years after the soil collapse until 90 and 100 cm depth, respectively. Such studies have globally been rarely performed and never before in this study area. Our goal was to describe the soil microbial community composition and diversity changes following abrupt thermal permafrost degradation in the Arctic.This data set represents raw 16S (V3-V4) and ITS2 amplicon sequence reads.
