HDACs are key enzymes in trypanosomatids representing excellent targets for the development of chemotherapy drugs.Identification of gene expression signatures of T. cruzi HDAC4 null mutant parasites was performed during differentiation. The experimental design was planned based on key events occurring during T. cruzi metacyclogenesis using epimastigote, epimastigote under nutritional stress, 24h attached differentiating and metacyclic trypomastigote forms from wild type and HDAC4 null mutant parasites.
