eAIP Security Scan Dataset Dataset supporting the study: Securing the eAIP: A Cross-National Assessment of Web Security Controls in Safety-Critical Aeronautical Information Infrastructure Scott Fenn and Simon Parkinson This repository contains passive web-security observations for publicly accessible Electronic Aeronautical Information Publication (eAIP) deployments. The dataset was collected to support a cross-national assessment of externally observable HTTP, TLS and DNS security controls used by eAIP publication platforms. Zenodo.10.5281/zenodo.21128097 Overview An Aeronautical Information Publication (AIP) is an official state publication containing aeronautical information of lasting relevance to air navigation. Modern Electronic AIPs (eAIPs) are commonly distributed as HTML websites, PDF download portals, or a combination of both. Because these systems publish safety-critical aeronautical information, their authenticity, integrity and availability are important security properties. The associated study assessed publicly accessible eAIP endpoints using a passive, client-equivalent measurement approach. The measurement tool made standard HTTP, TLS and DNS observations only. It did not perform penetration testing, port scanning, vulnerability exploitation, authentication attempts, crawling beyond the selected target page, or any other intrusive activity. The dataset covers: 215 listed eAIP sources considered during initial sampling; 139 included state or territory examples after exclusions; 101 distinct eAIP deployment endpoints, after accounting for shared/multi-state eAIP services. Collection dates Human verification and operational data recording: 16–17 June 2026 Formal automated scan run and follow-up re-run: 21 June 2026 Main AIRAC cycle used during data collection: 11/06/2026, where available The data represent a point-in-time observation of live public web infrastructure. Certificate validity periods, DNS records, HTTP response headers, endpoint availability and server behaviour may have changed since collection. This is Version 1 of the dataset, corresponding to the manuscript submitted for peer review. If changes are requested during review, subsequent versions will be deposited under the same Zenodo concept record.
