Transcriptome profile of remodelled vessels in Hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (HCM)

Hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (HCM) is the most common genetic cardiomyopathy characterized by massive left ventricular hypertrophy, myocyte disarray, interstitial fibrosis, and coronary microvascular disease. The latter represents a key pathophysiological mechanism in HCM leading to altered myocardial perfusion and reduced coronary flow reserve. However, little is known regarding the pathogenic mechanisms underlying this condition. Here we investigate the transcriptomic profiles and pathways associated to coronary microvessels in HCM patients using microvessels and cardiomyocytes isolated from septal miectomy of patients and of controls by laser capture microdissection.
