The composition of probiotic species is essential to the quality of composite probiotics products. Two commercial probiotic composite solid beverages The metagenomic sequencing and the average nucleotide identity (ANI) analysis were conducted to accurately identify probiotic composition at the species level in two probiotic products. The analysis of microbial diversity in two solid beverages, which performed through 16S rRNA gene high-throughput sequencing, showed that four OTUs were obtained from the high-throughput sequencing data of two products, respectively. For product 1, the four OTUs were identified as unclassified Bifidobacterium, Lactobacillus rhamnosus, Lactobacillus fermentum, and Bifidobacterium breve, respectively; For product 2, the four OTUs were identified as L. rhamnosus, L. plantarum, L. fermentum, and unclassified Bifidobacterium, respectively. Furthermore, the de novo metagenomic binning results showed that four genomes obtained from the metagenomic data of product 1 were identified as Bifidobacterium animalis subsp. lactis, Lactobacillus rhamnosus, Lactobacillus fermentum, and Bifidobacterium breve, respectively. For product 2, it also yielded four high-quality genomes by reconstructed of metagenomic data, which were identified as four species: L. rhamnosus, L. plantarum, L. fermentum, and B. animalis subsp. lactis, The probiotics identification results at the species level in this study are consistent with the products' claims.The methods applied in this study can accurately identify the species composition.
