Neonatal colonization with clonal variants of K. pneumoniae. Neonatal Colinization

Here we describe a colonization of a newborn child with K. pneumoniae. It seemed that the child was colonized with different phenotypic resistant K. pneumoniae isolates. In a period of two months third generation cephalosporin susceptible isolates were exchanged by cephalosporin resistant isolates. To characterize the isolates molecularly, whole genome sequencing was used, with a special focus on blaSHVs.
