In this study, we examine whether real-world standard-of-care assessments can characterize fall-risk dynamics in LTC and whether the fall-risk state (FRS), as an adverse quality-of-care indicator, is associated with the planning and delivery of healthcare resources at the provider level. Our primary objective was to identify clinical covariates that predict the rate of transitions between fall-risk states among LTC residents, using longitudinal standard-of-care assessments. Our secondary objectives were to examine whether fall risk state was a significant predictor of (a) delivered individual therapy (DIT) minutes and (b) planned mobility assistance (PMA) minutes.
