Environment Agency Water Quality Sampling Sites (Open WIMS)

The Environment Agency's Water Quality Archive (Open WIMS) has been interrogated to extract all open (active) water sampling sites. Sampling sites have then be categorised by group sampling type and attributed with the CaBA Catchment Partnership name. Data are symbolised by group sampling type and the pop-up includes a link to the Open WIMS data record for each site where you can access more details and water quality data for that location. The EA Water Quality Archive provides data on water quality measurements. Samples are taken at sampling points around England and can be from coastal or estuarine waters, rivers, lakes, ponds, canals or groundwaters. They are taken for several purposes including compliance assessment against discharge permits, investigation of pollution incidents or environmental monitoring. The archive provides data on measurements and samples dating from 2000. This layer only includes sites that are currently OPEN (active).
