DNA Barcode Dataset of Fishes in the Yarlung Tsangpo River Basin

The fish DNA barcode dataset for the Yarlung Tsangpo River Basin constructed in this study comprises a total of 3,133 sequences. Of these, 2,872 sequences were newly generated in this study, accounting for approximately 91.7% of the total, while the remaining 261 sequences (8.3%) were obtained from public databases, including GenBank and BOLD. All sequences were subjected to length filtering and translation validation, and no premature stop codons or frameshift mutations were detected, meeting the quality requirements for DNA barcoding analyses. Compared with previously available public fish DNA barcode data for the Yarlung Tsangpo River Basin, this dataset represents a substantial expansion in both sequence number and species coverage. All sequences are accompanied by complete collection metadata, including sampling locations and collection years, providing a reliable data foundation for future studies on fish diversity in the Yarlung Tsangpo River Basin.
