This series contains the Stamp Duties Office Handbook which was issued to all officers as a 'ready reference' in the assessment and interpretation of the Stamp Duties Act, including death duties. The volume is divided into three major parts, dealing with matters of a general nature, those relating to Death Duty and those relating to Stamp Duty. Each part is then divided into a series of chapters, with each chapter having its own index. The volume is indexed in the back, and is in loose-leaf format to enable later additions of chapters. There is also a contents list of Stated Cases, with references to the relevant chapter. The Handbook was never finally completed; as a consequence, many chapters are missing.
