This dataset provides information on beetle specimens collected from Mt. Helanshan, Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region, China from July 7 to October 7, 2021. Three passive acquisition methods were used: flight interception trap (FIT), Malaise trap (MT), and pitfall trap (PT). The dataset comprises 20 sampling points with one FIT, one MT, and ten PTs each. Using these methods, a total of 9,984 beetles belonging to 191 species and 30 families were collected. The dataset comprises: (1) 816 original group photos of beetle specimens from the sampling points; (2) Group photos of beetle specimens labeled with morphological species numbers; (3) Quantitative statistical table of beetle specimens; (4) Morphological species identification charts; (5) Information table of latitude, longitude, and altitude data for the sampling points; (6) Timeline of sample collection and field photos of the sampling points. This dataset not only provides effective and feasible passive collection methods for gathering beetles but also quantitatively assesses beetle diversity in Helan Mountain, thereby enriching related research.
