This paper surveys the literature and chronicles the interactions between the U.S. Army and the Mescalero Apache in Dog Canyon, New Mexico during the period between 1849 - 1880. It also provides a small amount of background information on earlier interactions with Native Americans in the area.
In 2014, as part of its effort to improve tDAR content, the Center for Digital Antiquity uploaded a copy of the document and further improved the record metadata.
