资源简介:
Nitrite-oxidizing bacteria (NOB) are responsible for the second step of nitrification, which is a part of the biogeochemical nitrogen cycle. In nitrogen-rich agricultural fields and wastewater treatment plants, nitrite oxidation should properly be controlled to prevent nitrogen pollution and remove nitrogen efficiently. Despite the fundamental importance, temperature dependence of NOB has not fully been examined. In this study, we will reveal how NOB response to temperature change via transcriptome analysis on Nitrobacter sp. strain CN101, which was previously isolated in our research group. This result suggests that nitrite oxidation rate is lagging due to the retarded transport of electrons at lower temperature.
