CD4+ T Cell Receptor Sequencing of COVID-19 Convalescent, Vaccinated, or Pre-COVID Healthy Donors

The 2019 emergence of SARS-CoV-2 has resulted in significant global morbidity and mortality. It has been shown that both COVID-19 patients and unexposed healthy donors mount a CD4+ T cell response to SARS-CoV-2 peptides. This study aims to identify SARS-CoV-2 antigen specific and SARS-CoV-2/common cold coronavirus cross-reactive CD4+ T cells at the resolution of a specific TCR clonotype. These data can be used to monitor immune reaction due to SARS-CoV-2 infection or vaccination and can be tracked over a patient's clinical progression. Additionally, by comparing data between patients we can identify common TCR sequences that may help us target certain viral epitopes for future vaccines and therapies.
