S-Equol: Therapeutic for HIV-1 Transgenic rat associated gastrointestinal dysbiosis

The present study investigated S-Equol (SE) as a potential therapeutic for HAND by modulating the gastrointestinal microbiome in HIV-1 Transgenic rats self-administering cocaine. The rats were fed a low estrogen diet and fecal samples were collected at baseline and at the completion of the treatment.
