VPRS 13904 Herman Research Laboratories Privatisation Records [Records Not Transferred]

This series contains records relating to the syndication of research programs undertaken by the Generation Victoria Research and Development Department and to the privatisation of the Herman Research Laboratories that occurred as part of the disaggregation and privatisation processes. The Generation Victoria Research and Development Department (later known as Herman Research Laboratories or HRL) was merged with the Coal Corporation Victoria (CCV) prior to privatisation.A major research program being undertaken by Generation Victoria was the IDGCC or Integrated Drying and Gasification Concept. Many of the records in this series deal with the complex intellectual property issues associated with the research undertaken by the Research and Development Department. Many of the legal and financial licences, deeds and agreements contained within this series or referred to in records within the series have long term currency.
