资源简介:
Description of data: The dataset is a record of the number of adult offspring produced by F2 Spiroplasma-transinfected and uninfected females. For each day there is a record of the number of males and females that emerged, followed by the total number of flies emerged. The D. sechellia strain used was 21, which is infected with Wolbachia. Data is in xlsl format. Description of methods for data collection: Microinjections were carried out as described by Nakayama et al, 2015. The number of adult offspring produced by the F2 generation of infected parental females was counted. Each F2 female was placed with two uninfected males in a vial of fly medium to mate. They were moved into fresh vials every day for five days to allow continuous oviposition. On the sixth day, adult flies were removed, and the females were screened for Spiroplasma. The eclosed offspring from days 2 to 5 were counted. Column headings: Column A- Group: Alternative nomenclature for Spiroplasma infection status. Uninfected female controls (controls), Infected females (I) and females that lost their Spiroplasma infection between the F1 and F2 generations (NI). Column B- Infection.status: Spiroplasma infection status of D. sechellia. Spiroplasma positive (S+) and Spiroplasma negative controls (S-) and females that lost their Spiroplasma infection between the F1 and F2 generations (NI). Column C- Line: Independent D. sechellia lines derived from successfully transinfected females (16, 24 and 20) and an uninfected control (15). Column D- Genotype: lineage of F2 mothers Column E- Rep: replicate female F2 D. sechellia Column F- D2M: number of emerged adult males from the second day of the fecundity assay Column G- D2F: number of emerged adult females from the second day of the fecundity assay Column H- D2T: total number of males and females from the second day of the fecundity assay Column I- D3M: number of emerged adult males from the third day of the fecundity assay Column J- D3F: number of emerged adult females from the third day of the fecundity assay Column K- D3T: total number of males and females from the third day of the fecundity assay Column L- D4M: number of emerged adult males from the fourth day of the fecundity assay Column M- D4F: number of emerged adult females from the fourth day of the fecundity assay Column N- D4T: total number of males and females from the fourth day of the fecundity assay Column O- D5M: number of emerged adult males from the fifth day of the fecundity assay Column P- D5F: number of emerged adult females from the fifth day of the fecundity assay Column Q- D5T: total number of males and females from the fifth day of the fecundity assay Column R- Total: total number of adult flies produced from each female Spiroplasma-infected and -uninfected D. sechellia.
