Genomic surveillance of Antimicrobial Resistance in Hyderabad lakes

To assess the diversity of antimicrobial resistance genes (AMR) of freshwater lakes of Hyderabad, microbiomes were obtained from the sediment of eight lakes, including the well-protected and polluted ones, followed by metagenome sequencing. The comparison of AMR gene diversity of protected lakes with that of polluted ones will give insight into the selection pressure of a particular environment that can shape the local resistome.
