Possible prosthetic valve endocarditis by Pandoraea pnomenusa and specific virulence mechanisms

Bacteremia by Pandoraea spp. has rarely been described before. We report the first case of a P. pnomenusa possible prosthetic valve endocarditis, according to the modified Duke criteria, in a patient suffering from recurrent endocarditis. Furthermore, we demonstrate biofilm formation by the P. pnomenusa isolates of this patient and investigate antibiotic resistance.
