Dynamic Testing of a Sliding Isolation System at Berkeley, Phase 2 - Varied Support Interfaces

In this test, the effects of using different material interfaces at different supports of a flat sliding isolation system is assessed. A specimen with supports at 4 corners is atop a shaking platform. The specimen is first tested with the same material interface at each support. Then, the interface is changed at two of the supports on the same side of the specimen. The same shaking protocol is run, letting us assess if the different in sliding force on each side of the specimen produces any out-of-plane sliding or twisting.
