The aim of this study is to evaluate the nasal microbiome of apparently healthy and BRD-affected pen-mate beef calves, exploring its potential as an additional diagnostic tool for identifying BRD. Samples were obtained from a farm in Texas. The analysis of the nasal microbiome included amplification and sequencing of the V4 region of the 16S rRNA gene using an Illumina MiSeq Sequencer.
