Aurora Australis Voyage 4 1999-2000 Underway Data

This dataset contains the underway data collected during the Aurora Australis Voyage 4 1999-2000. This voyage visited Macquarie Island, Davis, Sansom Island and Mawson, as well as carrying out a ship and helicopter based seal survey. Underway (meteorological, fluorometer, thermosalinograph and bathymetric) data are available online via the Australian Antarctic Division Data Centre web page (or via the Related URL section). For further information, see the Voyage Leader's Report and the Marine Science Support Data Quality Report at the Related URL section.The Voyage Leader's report lists the following scientific objectives:- Undertake helicopter and ship-based seal survey utilising up to 24 days of ship time. Initial 24 days achieved before arrival at Davis, then an additional day between Davis and Mawson plus a further 2 days after Mawson making a total of 27 days devoted to Seal survey program.- Retrieve current mooring meters. Despite several hours spent at each mooring site with countless traverses across each site with dredging equipment, no sign of the moorings was found.
