ENHANCING COMMUNICATIVE COMPETENCE THROUGH THE DEVELOPMENT OF SOFT SKILLS IN FUTURE TEACHERS

Effective communication is fundamental to successful teaching, requiring educators to combine linguistic competence with interpersonal and socio-emotional skills. This article examines the role of soft skills in developing communicative competence among future teachers. Particular attention is given to active listening, empathy, emotional intelligence, adaptability, conflict resolution, and cultural sensitivity. The article also explores practical strategies, including role-play, peer feedback, reflective practice, technology-enhanced training, and mentorship. These approaches provide pre-service teachers with opportunities to practice communication in authentic educational contexts. Integrating soft skills systematically into teacher education can enhance classroom interaction, strengthen teacher–student relationships, promote inclusive learning environments, and prepare educators for diverse and evolving educational settings.
