Wildfires in Western Greece region, Greece (2025-08-12)

On the 12 August 2025 at 09:40, a wildfire was reported to have affected Western Greece region. The event was increasing rapidly, threatening the settlements of Agios Stefanos, Agios Nikolaos, Krali, Katsaiteika, Kato Mazaraki, Thomeika and Kapeli. Residents of those settlements had to be evacuated. 40 firefighters with 27 vehicles, 2 airplanes and 5 helicopters were used for fire suppression, assisted by municipality vehicles and volunteer organizations. Copernicus EMS Rapid Mapping is requested to provide initial rough estimation and wildfire extent emergency mapping.
