"The photovoltaic generation data used in this example is taken from an open-source dataset on the Belgian power grid. The load data comes from an open-source Portuguese dataset. The dataset spans two years. One year data was used for both validation and training. The validation set was selected from the dataset prior to training. First, photovoltaic output and load curves were summed daily, along with their 2nd, 5th, and 8th percentiles. Two days at each of the high, medium and low levels were selected to form the fixed validation set. These validation days were excluded from the training. They were used solely for periodic evaluation of the model performance during training."
